I love this technique so much!! Such a paper saver! I do this also for my 4 1/4x 6 1/4 photo mats. So much less waste. As a reminder, add the two sides together, for a total of 10 1/2”. This is the size square you’ll cut. Then cut the same way you do for the 5x7 pieces.

I love the look of the design paper with that small bit of solid color peeking out from under it. I think it gives my books a sleek and clean look.
