🎄 The Merry Mini Challenge ✨

This month’s challenge was a great reminder that crafting is really just making decisions and trusting yourself enough not to undo them 🎄

I used the Echo Park Christmas Joy Collection Kit for all of the paper. Several of the stickers in the collection were on the larger side, so I supplemented with Christmas embellishments from my stash and carried on as if that was always part of the plan.

In Frances’ tutorial, she used a Christmas tree punch to create a small peek-a-boo window on the pocket. I didn’t have that punch, but I did have a metal sleigh cutting die. The sleigh was larger than the window called for, so the question became: How do I use this without committing to a sleigh-sized hole in every pocket?

The answer was to cut sleigh windows out of all six pockets and then intentionally swap the sleighs between the cards. Same sleighs, new pockets. It solved the problem, added interest, and gave me that quiet “yes, this was the right call” feeling 🛷

The tutorial also called for vellum behind the window to create a frosted look. I didn’t have vellum, but I did have a plastic grocery bag — which turns out to work beautifully when you lean into creativity over perfection ♻️

This project was a fun reminder that you don’t need the exact supplies to follow a tutorial — just confidence, flexibility, and a willingness to make it work.

I love this paper’s vibrancy and creative insect designs (Thanks Christine for revealing it ✌🏼). The papers I liked most🦋 were busy busy, so I just owned the busy vibe best I could🐞and really enjoyed working with them.

Having the right paper pack really makes the hours-long decorating/matting process so rewarding⭐️ Thank you for the inspirations you all share here in the community. It helps bring in some creativity ideas at dire times😄

I’m that problem student, Frances, but I have an excuse. I can’t show you the final product but at least I’ve made a little progress. Can I have credit for the removeable shaker? And the progress report? And the ASMR (or whatever it is)?

So I know everyone was doing Christmas, but I am currently working on a Wedding album box for my daughter and thought this would be a great addition. Even though I loved the velum element from the original I didn't want to mess up that paper it's one of my faves. The pinapple is a plastic drink stirer think i got from the dollar store and painted, If you know the series Psych they added it secretly through out their wedding. So much fun.

Made two of the Forevermore Album with Baby Design Paper from Echo Park. Some elements are inspired from other YBM albums.

Sorry Francės Long for copying your style of decorating, but I really love it. Can‘t help myself 😂😉

I made The Veleeta Album. I want to say how awesome of Frances to name the Album using their names and to show so much kindness to Veronica, Lee and Syreeta. You guys did an awesome job!!

I have to admit this was definitely a challenge, mostly cutting out and matting the frames, but I loved every minute of it. I ending up improvising a little. I always try to keep in mind that Every challenge is a crafting opportunity to learn something new or have a Mindset Shift.

Paper I used:

1. Hobby Lobby Four Seasons 5 Paper Pack 8.5" x 11

2. Walmart ArtSkills Glitter Paper, 11" x 14" It’s around $5 for 10 sheets.

3. I also used Christmas wrapping paper from Hobby Lobby.

Thank you for such an amazing Album!!

I have to say that I am so pleased to have found this app and the super cool projects that Frances comes up with! I took one of the gate folds and created a baby book that will go out into the mail tomorrow. I know they're going to love it just as much as I do. And I enjoyed the challenge. Thank you so much, Frances for the inspiration!
