Hi Tammy. Take your time on it. I'm still working on mine. I found my paper split too due to using heavy weight cardstock. I glued some tyvek paper over the split then coloured over it in the same colour as my base paper so it didn't show. Tyvek is brilliant as it really doesn't tear and you can't rip it either. x

Is it the same for laptops as I don't use my phone for apps? 

I wouldn't be without a cutlist. If I blind make (rarely) I will create a cutlist as I go along but that depends on the project.
