Thank you so much, Beth!! I so appreciate your comments!! I love a monochromatic scheme and this one was no exception. I had envisioned a lot more color, using multiple colors of butterflies, but as I kept going, I realized that orange was the only way to go, lol.

Hey there, Heather, I live in Fort Wayne! My husband works in Indy a lot. I’m not sure that’s where you’re from but it’s down around the middle somewhere, lol. Welcome to Frances’ group!! You’ll love it here!!

Thank you so much, Frances, this comment means a lot to me, more than I can probably express to you. I struggled a few different times getting through this folio, and I’m still not even sure if it’s even done 😂🤣. I am so glad I did this challenge, though. I would have passed on this folio over and over again, but making it really stretched my creativity and I’m so glad to have done it. I don’t know why I chose such a “difficult” paper collection to work with. It’s not really meant to be used on its own. I originally bought it because, every once in awhile, I need a neutral when I scrapbook, but once the thought to use it popped into my head, I couldn’t unsee what my book could look like. I was thinking, though, that I’d be using tons of different colors, but when I started mostly just using orange, I couldn’t make other colors look pleasing to my eye. I’m so grateful for your vision to start sharing your tutorials and for starting this group. I love being here, seeing everyone’s ideas and sharing my own. I love this community, thank you so much!!

Thank you, Shayne! I’m so glad you love my folio, 🥰 especially with the minimal embellishments and small pops of orange in there. I love the color orange and I really love how it looks in my folio.

This is the back of my folio. I thought I wanted to add a few pops of color to it but decided it would just take away from the overall effect.

Finally, my Abstract Folio is as complete as I can make it. Why do I make things so difficult on myself, lol? I chose to use the paper pack Charcoal Collection, and the Charcoal Acetate Assortment, by 49 and Market. There isn’t any ephemera or cut aparts with this collection so I used the Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Botanical ephemera pack, and I also “stole” some bits and pieces from some other 49 and Market collections I have. To finish it off, I used some stamps with black ink to add a few sentiments. I created the butterfly page by choosing a fairly easy image from Cricut Design Studio. Again, making things more difficult for myself than I needed too, lol, but I love the effect. I kept everything really basic and neutral and then just added pops of color here and there. The back is very plain, and very neutral. I’ll post a photo of it in the comments. I added a few photo booklets so I have the option for more photos. All in all, while this was extremely challenging for me, I enjoyed the challenge and I’m glad I participated. All of these angles just about made me lose my religion, lol, but I made it and I’m extremely happy with the results!!
